Name: Raina
Company: Global Child Education (寰宇教育)

Unlike my previous experience as a frontline teacher in a cram school during my university years, my nearly one-year internship at Global Child Education allowed me to understand how the HR department at the headquarter of a large-scale cram school supports its branches in recruiting academic tutors and administrative staff.

During my time at Global Child Education, I worked as an intern in the Human Resources Department, responsible for recording and screening applicant documents, contacting job seekers through different recruiting platforms, sending interview invitations, registering employee onboarding and offboarding data, and handling criminal record certificate application. Sometimes, I was also responsible for conducting interviews.

Since the HR department in Global Child was established not long ago, thus many systems were still being developed, in the later phase of my internship, I also assisted in constructing the company’s employee onboarding manual. Since I have a strong interest in adult/employee training, it was such a pleasure for me to participate in building the first edition of the training manual.

I am grateful that while pursuing my graduate studies, I had the opportunity to experience the real work of an HR specialist in a practical setting. Throughout this process, I had interacted with people from diverse backgrounds, and this valuable experience not only reminded me the importance of the HR function within an organization but also strengthened my determination to continue developing my career in the field of human resources.
