Company: GDT Asia
My internship at GDT Asia was a transformative experience that allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. Working in a dynamic environment where digital marketing and AI-driven innovations shape daily operations, I had the chance to explore multiple HR functions and understand how HR truly supports business success.
One of my major responsibilities was assisting in the HR Information System (HRIS) implementation. I learned how HR technology helps streamline data management, improve attendance tracking, and enhance overall efficiency. I handled data validation, leave and overtime updates, and system testing. Through this, I gained strong attention to detail and realized the importance of data accuracy and confidentiality in HR practices. Another important task was recruitment. I participated in job posting, screening, interview scheduling, and communicating with candidates. These experiences strengthened my communication skills and taught me how to identify candidates who not only match job qualifications but also fit the company’s culture. It showed me how recruitment plays a key role in shaping the future of the organization. I also contributed to drafting and updating HR policies—such as overtime guidelines, leave procedures, and employee welfare programs. Working on policy development helped me understand the necessity of fairness, clarity, and alignment with labor regulations to ensure a positive employee experience.
Throughout this internship, I learned that HR requires patience, adaptability, and empathy. There were challenges—system errors, urgent employee concerns, or sudden changes in hiring needs—but I learned to stay calm and solution-focused. It became clear to me that positive thinking, although it doesn’t solve everything, helps lighten difficult moments and encourages proactive problem-solving. What I enjoyed most at GDT Asia was the supportive team. My supervisors believed in my abilities and encouraged me to take ownership of my work. Their guidance helped me build confidence and develop a stronger professional mindset. I realized that HR is not only about managing processes—it is about helping people thrive in the workplace.
Looking back, this internship strengthened my passion for Human Resources and confirmed that I am moving toward the right career path. The skills and experiences I gained from HRIS knowledge, recruitment skills, policy development, and teamwork—will contribute greatly to my future career in HR development and strategic HR management. I am truly grateful for this opportunity and proud to have been part of GDT Asia’s growth.
