Name: Juan Carlos

Company:  Human Resources Department, Overseas Division, E. Sun Bank

Deciding to participate in an internship program at E. Sun Bank was one of the best decisions of my life. This experience deeply impacted me on three levels: professional, cultural and personal.

The position was in the Human Resource Department, making it my first real experience in this field, since my background is in Translation and Interpretation. It was an opportunity to confirm if HR was the right path for me. Additionally, since the role required Chinese proficiency, it allowed me to practice my language skills.

From the application process to the end of the internship, it was a journey of adaptation and resilience. Throughout the internship, I gained unique experiences such as observing real interview assessments, developing educational training programs, and listening to important representatives from international branches (e.g., Hong Kong, Singapore).

In conclusion, personally, this internship helped me identify the HR area I want to pursue. Culturally, as an international student (from Peru), I gained more insight into Taiwanese work culture in two months than in my previous two years in Taiwan. Lastly, personally, it boosted my confidence in handling cross-cultural situations and adapting in diverse working environments.

I am truly grateful for the hospitality shown by E. Sun Bank and my team.
